General Election ( GE ) Singapore 2011 - Opposition New Blood

I must say for this time round, the opposition has really stepped up on this 2011's election in taking a more serious stand and preparation.

Having posted this video up, I have to re-iterate i am in no way a supporter or any affiliation with any parties in particular per say.

However, from what I really observed is that I am really IMPRESSED with instead is MORE about the cohesiveness between the opposition party, its like i can have the gut feel that Nicole Seah from National Solidarity Party (NSP), (also my areas' contesting party)  has a full support back end from its own party members.

The closest term I can come up with is quoting from MP Mr Lim Boon Heng's Speech : "Group Think" . I can perhaps also feel why he cried so hard that day.

Cheap Deals - Bukit Batok [ Tze Char ] ( Taste Good Food )

Warning: the Following contains A Good Food Review in my neighbourhood

££#£ - this post is still under edit. I promise you good pictures and better reviews once its done.

@ Bukit Batok

Restaurant Name:
Place:
Address: B
Speciality: Chinese Food
(updated with photos)

Recommended highly ... I decided to give this restaurant a try with my family.

Ambience is that of .... Not much crowd even on weekend, so it is a good place to go if you want to have a .....

Whatever you order, the food is all above average standard. We order salted egg prawns, roast chicken, Mamic pork chop, vegetable, all served within good timing and taste real good. One of the better Chinese restaurants I have visited.

I was told by the manager (or was she the boss) that apart from the chines food, their HK Dim Sum is famous and whatmore, she reveals that there is a 20% discount if you visit them from 9 -11am on Sunday and PH.

Comments: The food is fantastic but dont expect a lower price because it is located in these neighbourhood shopping centre. A table of 5 cost $140+ after the ++ which is rather standard Chinese restaurant price if you go to more famous Chinese restaurant. However, i can assure you that the food that they served is just as good if not better than the other Chinese Restautant.

Rating:
4.5/5. It is that good.

Sorry, was too engrossed in talking and eating and forget to take photos. However, I suddenly remembered and got this one:

ABOUT ME ( PART III ) - ThatPatrickStar Blog has New Layout - Any Questions For me?

Hi mortals,

this blog has certainly come some way since it was soft launched. A bunch of you had been asking me you are known as Wei Lih in person usually,  Whats up with thatPatrick(star)?

Yes.. Emulating this funny character...

thatPatrickStar

Well known TV  Nickelodeon's Cartoon series " SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS " If you still have no slightest idea of what this, you must really be living in Bikini Bottoms - Under the Sea  all these years.

Now, I must say, if you haven't yet clicked on the above video yet, you should, cos i am going to throw u viewers:

A Challenge: Watch this whole clip without wiping off that smile on your face.
( Not exactly, b'cos I won't really have any proof whether you did smile ya.It will however liven up your day )

Now contrary to this interesting character, Patrick was never on my NRIC, the fact was that it was first conjuncture in here.

That was a Makeshift Starhub Promotion Booth (Bikini Bottoms under the Sea), in case you are wondering. And I am holding Cononut Juice (Pineapple)

I was the In-charge for the Booth on the contract exercise at that time. And there was this colleague who suddenly came up with a topic for thinking up English names for everyone. He claimed that usually when he sees a person, a suitable English name should be perfect for a person.

So he said:

You got the "Patrick face". (bear in mind Spongebob has not came out then)

So I asked him how does Patrick face looked like? He said,

"You look very technical, Someone into IT and honest type" .

As you can see, my blog now has the latest face lift. It comes with a fully functional rotatable labels called "Cloud Nine" on the left corner. You can check it out¬.

If you are still one of those traditional newspapers reader or frequently buy for your parents, there is a promo by SPH these few days..

You buy the newspapers. You get a Scratchcard.

Win combination of 3 in a roll in a 3x3 Boxes, you get the prize.
I saw  Cash Prizes of $2, $5 or $10 in denomination, some small bottle of Mouthwash, Some KitKats, and an instant Grand Prize being 6 bottles of Bao Yu. ( Abalone )

Lucky SPH Wheel Of Fortune - (Only available for Wanbao) Instant Win.

Many Aunties and Uncles were even seen queuing up with more than 5 stacks of newspapers in their hand. Makes me wonder, Why do they need to read so many stacks? Even if they are so nice as to give to their neighbours, it also doesn't seemed completely right?

Does the SPH feel by doing this promotion to push up the sales, is it really being nice to the trees?

Nevertheless, if you are still a avid hardcopy newspaper reader,
Hurry, before offer lasts. (but i don't encourage buying multiple copies)

Aparently, my wife bought a Lianhe Wanbao (联合晚报)and won herself a $2 two dollar cash immediately..

Notice the Menu, there is a green overlay at the bottom. Yes those are the Offer Prices only available at the special hours.
The Hours are as such: 6am -9am.

Lately, I happened to come across few good phrases Ray Kroc the founder said once before; which I find it very meaningful. I picked 3 which I believed covered 3 different growing stages aspects of our lifespan.

"When you're green, your growing. When you're ripe, you rot.
This candid one is speaking to most early teens picking up the ropes of lives, something where we can easily relate into.

This tells us it is really ok when we are new to new trait or challenge, when others may not take us seriously or
recognize or acknowledge our efforts, we will get there one day.

“Its easy to have principles when you're rich. The important thing is to have principles when you're poor.”
This one is more on a serious note. Telling us to stick to our true beliefs, be humble and have principles, no matter how successful we are in our lives.

Oh by the way, if we are feeling poor, there is also a SGD $2.50 breakfast.   Just mention to the Auntie, and she take your order. It consists of a Sausage McMuffin and Kopi/Tea Drink.

"If You Are Going to Take Money Out from Community, Give Something Back."
This is what any successful affluent of us aspire to achieve one day~! This is the stage where I wish to be.

Tribute To Bankers - Jessie J Price Tag

Hi everyone,

As you guys probably knew, I was an ex-banker before. This is a song where i will like to dedicate to all the bankers out there, especially to those friends that Iv known you and walked the path together with you..

With persevere and hard work, lots of blessings of luck, and  heart of ethicalness ~ I hereby wish all of you do well in your business .

Jessie J - Price Tag ft. B.o.B.

This song speaks so true to my emotions as a Banker.

- Waking up a good early and reach the bank hours long before the sunlight even shine, ahead of the Bank's Offical Opening hours.
- Maintain a Cheerful Chirpy Smile and composure to the Tip top condition right till the day ends off.
- Facing different types of customers in the bank asking all customer related enquiries without the slightest hint you are a Insurance and Investment Banker, and after going through the toils and time for helping them and sharing with them, risk of them running away like salted eggs.
- Last to leave the office and probably back at home when most of your family members could already be in their dreamland any other day, long long after Bank's Offical Closing hours.

Our Bankers' Woes only we know..  Cheers,
With warmest regards,
From the Desk of Patrick. I ❥ u all too.

My Son Destin Wants To Eat Wasabi - I love Icecream - Learn the words ( Humour )

When my son was about 3 years old, we bring him to the Sake Sushi Japanese Restaurant.

He had not learnt what Wasabi ワサビ(山葵) was at that point of time, but less to know how it tasted like.

However he had just learnt what the word: Ice cream (アイス -Pronounced as Aisu) and knows how it tastes like.
Like all kids in the world, they adore ice-creams. (it is one of my fav food by the way)

Wasabi Jar on the Conveyor Belt in Sake Sushi

Like most Japanese Conveyor Belt Restaurant, this thing merrily roll along...

What is this?

I asked my son Destin casually :

"Do you want this?"

Destin answered eagerly without thinking twice :
" I want ! I want ! "

After scooping a teaspoon of this green stuff, I put the jar back.

Destin wasn't the least happy and he screamed :

" So less, I want more, MORE Is not enough! "
I told him he will surely find it more than enough and he did not believed me at first... until,
when he got the first taste of it...
After that day, my son Destin learnt a new word, "Wasabi"
And you can bet since then, he is able to tell the difference between the both, Wasabi or Icecream, and how uniquely each of these tasted.

Dying Like a Moth Searching for the Ceiling Light ( Motivation )

Alone in my almost empty, white room, I was lying face up.

I saw these...
Moths' flight dance.
These enthusiastic moths were darting around the ceiling. Like bees to honey, they seemed attracted to my bedroom's round ceiling light.

Amidst this central of attraction, I saw an unfortunate moth got itself entangled between the light bulb, trapped there and finally with little struggle, it lay there, motionless.

I figured this " mindless " moth must have lived its last breath.
Carcass of a moth living its last breath
As I watched, my lonely and bored mind began to wonder...
To be reminded of its' existence,

" When a moth dies , what is left will be only its poor carcass "
however

" When we humans die , what is left of us ? "

What do you want to be remembered for?

What are you dreams/ goals ?

Probably, probably a good

LEGACY?

With warmest regards,
From the Bedroom of Patrick. I ❥ u all too.

PS: Let's work towards turning hopes into reality today, starting a little step every other day.
Cheers.
